Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for a bra fitting?

We do not charge for bra fittings. Bra fitting services are always free. We only charge for merchandise you purchase.

How long does a bra fitting take?

Taking your measurements only takes a few minutes, but then selecting the right bra(s) for you can last 15-40 minutes or more. Sometimes we find your perfect fit on the first try. Other times it takes a little trial and error.

What size bras do you carry?

We carry from 30AAA to 56O in some brands. Other brands have a more limited selection. You will not find a better selection of sizes and brands anywhere. Both in terms of band sizes and cup sizes, our selection is unmatched.

Can you help me find a good bra for my dress?

Absolutely! Bring your dress in with you. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, and any other formal attire. We do it all. Helping you find the perfect bra or other undergarments for your formal dress is one of our specialties.

Can you special order something in my size?

Of course we can! Usually we will have your size in stock, but on some occasions we may need to make a special order for you. We have wonderful relationships with all of our vendors and they make our special orders a priority.

Do you offer bridal services?

Assisting brides in selecting the perfect undergarments and accessories for their big day is one of the things we do best. We have wonderful relationships with all of the bridal stores and boutiques in the area. If you didn’t find us yourself, there is a good chance they will send you to us if you buy your dress locally.

Do I have to remove my shirt to be measured?

We recommend you be fitted while topless. It gives us the best ability to size you correctly. Taking your measurements is not the only factor. It helps us tremendously to see the shape and contours of your body, and we will be able to find your perfect fit more quickly. If you feel uncomfortable, it is not an absolute necessity. Just let us know what your preference is and we will respect your wishes. After you have put on a bra we selected, it will help if you allow our fitters to see you in it, make adjustments, and then perhaps bring you an alternative depending on how that ones fits.

Do you carry shapewear?

We do. Shapewear is one of our biggest sellers. We source it from multiple vendors, as each brand has different strengths. Which brand we recommend will depend on what outfit you would like to wear it with and your body type.

How should I wash and care for my bras?

To extend the life of your bras you should hand wash them. We have soaps that we recommend for this purpose. Bras should also be hung to dry. If you have a moulded cup it should be reshaped prior to drying and stored flat. If you buy a high quality bra, you want it to last. Using a washing machine and/or dryer will significantly reduce the lifespan of your bra.

How frequently should I be measured for a bra?

We recommend every six months. But it is very important after any changes in your body, especially weight gain or weight loss.

Do you carry plus size bras and plus size lingerie?

Yes we do. This is where Madame Pirie excels the most. Our goal is to provide bras and other lingerie for every woman. We have the best selection of sizes in the area, and we special order anything that you want. If you visit us, we guarantee we will find you something comfortable that makes you feel beautiful. It’s what we do.

What can I expect during my bra fitting?

First we will take your measurements in one of our dressing rooms. We like to do this with your top off if you are comfortable with it. After we have measured you and gotten an idea of your specific body type we will begin bringing you different bras to try on. After each bra, we will take a look, make adjustments, and then either approve it or bring an alternative.

How many bras should I own?

You want to have a few bras in your wardrobe. If you wear the same one every day, it will wear out quickly. Obviously the more the better, but we know they are expensive. Having at least four good quality bras will allow you to rotate them regularly. Once you purchase one of our bras it will instantly become your new favorite. Try not to wear it out too fast. If you can’t afford to buy many at once, buy one, then come back in a month or two and buy another. Build your collection slowly. Hand wash your bras and hang them to dry to increase their lifespan.
